Villa Marea sits on a narrow cliffside road between Ravello and Positano, in a restored 18th-century villa that has been in the same family for four generations. The current owners, Marco and Giulia Ferrante, took it over from Marco's grandmother in 2009 and spent three years restoring it room by room — preserving the original hand-painted Vietri tiles, the terracotta floors, the arched ceilings — while quietly adding the things that make a place feel genuinely luxurious: deep soaking tubs, linen pressed with lavender water, a cellar stocked with estate-grown Campania wines, and a kitchen that wakes up at dawn.Every detail here is deliberate. La Dolce Suite is our largest and most coveted accommodation, occupying the entire western corner of the villa on the uppermost floor. There are no walls between you and the sea — only open air, a private infinity-edge plunge pool that appears to pour directly into the Tyrrhenian, and a wraparound terrace with an outdoor dining table for two and a daybed draped in undyed linen. Staying here is not a hotel experience. It is something closer to dreaming with your eyes open.
La Dolce Suite

The Azzurro Suite takes its name from the particular shade of blue the sea turns at midday — a blue so saturated and improbable it looks like something painted, not something real. The suite is furnished with antique pieces collected by the Ferrante family over decades. It is, in the truest sense of the phrase, a room with a view.

Captain Enzo Ruggiero has navigated this coastline since he was fourteen, and he knows coves that don't appear on any map. Tours depart at whatever time suits you — into hidden grottos, past Positano, along quieter routes toward Cetara. Each tour includes a lunch prepared by Chef Esposito, chilled Campania white wine, and a swimming stop in water so clear you can see fifteen meters down. Always just the two of you.

Private Boat Tours with Captain Enzo
The Ferrante family has maintained a small hillside vineyard for over a century — Falanghina, Aglianico, and a local Tintore almost no one outside Campania has tasted. Each afternoon at four, Marco leads a private tasting in the estate cellar: a vaulted stone room cut directly into the cliff face, cool and dim, smelling of earth and oak. Six wines, ninety minutes, and a plate of estate-preserved lemons, olives, and aged Provolone del Monaco.
